An evening with Steve Peat - Mansfield - 14th March 2024

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IN MANSFIELD - WE BRING TO YOU AN EVENING WITH PROFESSIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE LEGEND STEVE PEAT

The Former World Champion will be live at the 1861 Suite, Mansfield for a live  Q&A with fans on the 14th March 2024.

Peat began his career with little success riding for the Saracen team alongside Rob Warner, before moving in the mid-1990s to Team MBUK. He rode for GT Bicycles in the late 1990s and for the Orange team between 2002 and 2005, winning the Fort William downhill world cup round in 2005. He then joined the Santa Cruz Syndicate team for the 2006 season, which saw him finish 1st overall. He continues to race for Santa Cruz Syndicate.

As last man down the hill, Peat won the La Bresse downhill world cup round 2 on 10 May 2009 with a time of 02:07.14 knocking Sam Hill out of the hot seat for his 16th world cup round win, tying at the top of the all-time leader-board with Nicolas Vouilloz. Just one week later on 17 May 2009, at the third round of the UCI World Cup in Vallnord, Peat won again (besting compatriot Gee Atherton by just 0.02 seconds) making him the most successful male downhill mountain bike racer ever by number of wins at the time. This record has since been beaten.

Other successes include placing second in the Mountain Bike World Championships in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2008. On 6 September 2009, Peat won the World Championships in Canberra for the first time in his career, with a winning time of 2:30.33, just 0.05 seconds ahead of his Santa Cruz teammate Greg Minnaar. He was crowned World Cup Champion in 2002, 2004 and 2006. He has also won the Lisboa Downhill held in Lisbon, Portugal eight times.

Aside from his professional riding career, Peat has other involvements with the sport, including contributing to the design and manufacture of specialist riding clothing. Peat also has involvement with young cyclist academies, and is a proponent of youth involvement in the sport.

Following his recent world champ status he has released his own game 'Steve Peat – Downhill Mountain Biking' for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

In recognition of his accomplishments, Peat was added to Sheffield's 'walk of fame' outside Sheffield Town Hall  in 2016.

Vetting the Superstar terms.

SITTING WITH FRIENDS: To ensure you are sat with your friends please book under the same name this will automatically sit you together. Any requests can also be directed to info@superstarspeakers.co.uk and although we cannot guarantee a request we will do our best to accommodate them.

TICKET TYPE SEATING: If you was to purchase a gold and a silver ticket together then you would be sat on a table with the silver tickets. Same applies for other tickets. You will be sat with the lower end ticket on any tickets you purchase as a group.

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS: You will be allocated a seat for the event  around a table of 8-12 depending on the venue layout for the event.

REFUNDS: A full refund will be issued only if the event is cancelled. Tickets may not be exchanged, refunded or re-sold. Refund policy if the event is cancelled due to the COVID-19 :A person gets notified about the cancellation of any event. A person will receive their refund automatically through the same method of payment used to complete your purchase (eg:- If the payment is made using UPI, the money comes back into the UPI account). The refunds are generally delivered within 7-21 business days.If the event is postponed, we will contact you via phone or email with the information regarding the changes in the time, venue, date, and more. The tickets are valid for the new event date.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: It is paramount to Superstar Speakers that everyone fully enjoys this event. If you have ANY special requirements (E.g. Access) please notify us BEFORE the show as we may not be able to accommodate you if told on the night.

SPEAKERS: In the unlikely event that the guest speaker can no longer make the date we will find a suitable replacement date and you will be offered 24 hours to agree to take a refund or move your ticket over to the future date. After 24 Hours you will automatically have taken the option to have anew tickets to a new date.

START TIME: Time listed is the time the doors open and not the time the speaker is first on stage.
