David May is a Manchester United legend

Signing for Man United for £1.2 Million from Blackburn Rovers in 1994, May stayed at Old Trafford until 2003 and was a safe option throughout the Sir Alex Ferguson years

David May played in the same team as the iconic partnership of Pallister and Bruce (playing right back just before the arrival of Gary Neville in the frst team) and carried on playing throughout the Treble winning season of 1999 - winning both the FA Cup and Champions League - however May didn't complete the treble as he didn't feature in enough games to win a Premier League medal (in fact despite playing for Manchester United during 6 title winning campaigns May only won 2 - due to injury and squad rotation)

Despite this David May is beloved with the Manchester United faithful - a regular face on MUTV and a naturally hilarious host. In nearly every picture of the 1999 Champions League win you can see David May with his arms outstretched at the top of the team, with a huge grin on his face

He was also named in the starting line up of the 1999 FA Cup final vs Newcastle

and the United fans delighted in chanting 'DAVID MAY SUPERSTAR, GOT MORE MEDALS THAN SHEARER!'
